How will the books be printed?
It’ll be an offset print run (not print-on-demand) by a reputable printer who’s done TTRPG books and crowdfunded projects before. This’ll make sure the books are the highest possible quality.

What VTTs will be available?
Initially, only Foundry and Shard Tabletop—I’ve already got developers ready to make those. If we smash through stretch goals, I would like to add options for Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, and Alchemy, but no promises until there’s the budget to make them happen.

How long is the book?
In the current working plan, 195 pages - and I expect a little bit to get added to squeak us above 200, for sure. If we hit every stretch goal, the book could be as much as 250 pages.

Will I be able to edit my pledge later?
Yes, there’ll be a post-campaign pledge manager to allow you to edit your pledge and let late backers still get in on the book (until the print run actually kicks off).

How can I follow along, get involved, and see early previews?
Backers will get access to drafts as they get finalized! But if you want to participate more closely, my Discord server’s available at https://discord.gg/mm8p6CX5ys, which is the go-to location to get up-to-the-minute info and help with workshopping new content.

Why so many spells? What's Spells That Don't Suck?
Because spells are awesome! The bulk of the spells are the Spells That Don’t Suck project - a year-long effort by somanyrobots and Omega Ankh to update, repair, and reupholster 5E’s spell corpus, fixing everything that’s bad in it. They’re all licensed CC-BY, so available without backing the book, but this will be the official way to get them in print. The remaining spells are generally written to support the player options in the book, but may also include spells written for player options that didn’t make it in.

What is the Spellbound Sea?
The Spellbound Sea is a vast ocean, ruled over by terrible gods and patrolled by deadly sea monsters. In its original incarnation, it was the Sea of Storms - back when those gods and monsters were too terrible for travel across it to be practical. But the Sea’s recently been opened up to ships, as long as they’re willing to offer the right tributes, and consequently its diverse and uncharted islands are ripe for exploration. The book will explore a few of those islands, including the Curse-Scarred Isles, and more depending on how many stretch goals we hit!
As a practical GM tool, you can drop the Spellbound Sea or any of its islands into your game world with minimal explanation. Anywhere your PCs want to sail, they might find bits and pieces of the Sea to explore!

Last Updated At: 07/11/24What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
