Wooooo! We Did It!

Wow. This has been an amazing ride. Thank you so much to everyone who backed the Kickstarter, and to everyone who's been supporting and enjoying my work up until now. It means so much to me to be able to make this book.
Our official final take for the campaign is $84,855. We punched through 19 stretch goals (came a hair away from 20!). We added 14 more subclasses, 3 more species, several more pages of magic items, and some awesome collabs, bringing in a soundtrack, crafting recipes, more monsters, and more items. We added 3 mini-settings! This book's gonna be awesome.
Next Steps
We're gonna be tucking in and making a book! The content's about 75% done already, with editors and playtesters hard at work. I'm going to finish cranking through the remaining content, including all our stretch goals, and the art team's going to finish all the incredibly lovely art going into this book. In a couple weeks I intend to get out some very rustic previews for you all - pure mechanics, minimally edited, probably without art included. Once we've got the snowball rolling properly, we're aiming to get the first true WIP draft (in layout, with art) by late August.
Updates: Updates are going to slow down, as they do for all campaigns. I'll still make sure to put out a progress report at least once a month.
Pledge Management: We'll be using Backerkit for pledge management. We'll get all the campaign data imported into there soon, and will get things configured so you can add/edit add-ons and so we can accept late pledges there.
Production: We've got an agreement with London Pendragon on production (for everything except the limited-run dice sets).
Fulfillment: We still haven't signed a contract here, but we're 95% on our Americas+Canada fulfiller. The reason we haven't signed yet is that we're checking up on some EU/UK-specific options first, but that's coming up next week.
Thank You
I really cannot say it enough - thank you all so, so much for the support and the enthusiasm. It's a privilege and a dream to get to work on this, and I'm thrilled to get to follow through on all the plans for this book. The whole team's so excited. This is going to be amazing, and it's all thanks to you.
Last 24 Hours!

Hi everybody!
This is it! The final day of the campaign - we'll close at 9:30am PST tomorrow, exactly 24 hours from now. I'm so excited of what we're going to do, and so happy with how the campaign's gone. There aren't words for how much gratitude I'm feeling. But there are words for our final few stretch goals!
First up, we hit 70k yesterday, bringing us the Revived species and another pack of magic items! It's gonna get spooky, folks.
And as I write this, we are on the cusp of 75k, which will unlock Storm's Eye Citadel! I'm going to go ahead and include it here, though, we'll almost certainly hit it by the time you read this. A haven for magical experimentation, with mighty wizards calling down metal and lightning on passing pirates. Two more subclasses are included!
And as we keep pushing onward, there are more stretch goals we can reach for! At 80k, we'll unlock the vaults of Storm's Eye, getting more magic items and variety of arcane enhancements to add onto our ships! There's a reason the Ruinous Corsairs tend to leave Storm's Eye alone...
At 85k, we'll unlock two more subclasses from Storm's Eye! Get more player options from across the Spellbound Sea!
And if we manage to push all the way to 90k, a special treat - I'll commission a modding team to implement the Swashbuckler in Baldur's Gate 3! If you've tried the Troubadour mod, you already know how awesome it is to add some more variety and freshen that game up - now you can look forward to a deft blade dancing across the battlefield!
I'm so humbled by the support, the excitement, and the generosity of all our backers - it's been a wild month, and it's gonna be so much fun delivering this book to all of you. Let's get a strong finish in our final day! Tell your friends, your tablemates, your dog, and your dog's friends. Set sail for Storm's Eye, and let's get as much awesome stuff in this book as we can!
IDBN's a good friend, talented creator, frequent collaborator, and excellent human. (He made the video for Spellbound Sea, and the book will have a few monster stat blocks in it that we did together!). His new campaign went live yesterday, producing a 30-50 page softcover booklet for a slim-yet-packed addition to your game. It'll have 5 subclasses, new items, new spells, and new NPCs. Check it out! It's well worth your time and I'd love to see him get over the finish line today.
Last 72 Hours, and Roll20 Support!

Hey folks!
We're into the last stretch - 72 hours from now, the campaign will be over! Most Kickstarters have a lot of movement in the last three days, particularly the last two - I'm really excited to see how it goes. (Things are already heating up, with today already tracking really well!). With all the stretch goals we've already hit, we're up to 30 subclasses, on top of 13 each for our three classes.
The big announcement for today: Roll20 Support!
It's taken awhile to commit to Roll20 support — it's an expensive and difficult platform to work with, and the audience can be hard to find sometimes. But I want to do right by all our backers, including Roll20 fans, and follow through on our promises about delivering this. So I'm in talks with a number of Roll20 developers, and getting estimates that are workable. (Candidly, I don't expect this to pay off financially, at least without a long tail of folks checking out the module over time. But this is the great thing that a successful campaign buys us!)
We've also just gotten to our $65k mark, which gets us 3 more tracks by Music D20! That brings our total soundtrack up to 5 songs to accompany your oceanic adventures!
I wanted to take today to talk a little bit more about our add-ons, since a few folks have had questions about them. Here's a showcase of our first .stl file, the Spellsinger Troubadour!
This is by Zana Arnautovic (also the illustrator for the entire Troubadour), and she'll be in charge of modeling for the other .stl's as well. The plan is one for each class, showing off a distinctive character and subclass. I also expect she'll be the primary illustrator for the GM screen, which'll be four panels showcasing her beautiful artwork.
For another add-on, here's a mockup of our Spellbound Sea dice!
To be clear, this is just a render — we'll be delivering this to our manufacturers as a general design idea, a swirly oceanic blue with gold lettering. So we should get something in this vein, but not exactly like it. And as a reminder, this is distinct from the ultra-premium dice by Matt Boyd — those will be a limited run of 4 sets only, while the Spellbound dice are available to anyone who pledges for them.
From our friends at Leopard Print Press, the Sanctum of Ill Omens is a drop-in dungeon for just $2! The abandoned sanctum of a powerful diviner, it contains magical artifacts, mysterious treasures, and the fabled Nostradam Mirror, an artifact capable of answer any question, including the ones you definitely shouldn't ask! Inside, you'll find
Open-ended plot hooks
5 battle maps
5 encounters that can be fought or roleplayed through
Puzzles and traps that a mad wizard left behind
Treasure treasure treasure! Your spellcasters will be especially happy at the library of spell books left behind...
A potential warlock patron!
$60k and 1 Week Left!

Hello amazing people!
First up: 1 week left! The campaign ends next Thursday, July 11, at 9:30am PST. So 1 week left to tell your friends, or to get off the fence if you're just following along - backers now should have a pretty good idea of what this book will look like (pending some more sweet stretch goals, more on those later). Most campaigns do get a big surge at the end, and we're hoping for the same here - there's still plenty of distance we can cover!
Okay, on to the juicy stuff: let's get spooky!
With our $60k stretch goal hit, we'll be getting 2 more subclasses for the Sailos' Graveyard, 4 in all. And I can unveil our next few goals! First up: $65k gets us 3 more tracks by Music d20! This'll bring the soundtrack up to 5 pieces, enough to give your game some serious seafaring flavor.
At $70k, we'll revisit the Sailors' Graveyard one last time, unlocking a new playable species and another page of magic items!
And $75k is another big goal - we'll add another mini-setting, Storm's Eye Citadel! Unlike the other locations in the Spellbound Sea, Storm's Eye isn't a lonely archipelago or barren set of reefs - it's a prosperous and powerful settlement, a mighty fortress located within a permanent hurricane. Storm's Eye Citadel is home to powerful wizards and arcane scholars, experimenting with new techniques in lightning and metal magic.
It is stunning just how well this campaign's gone - our full development process for the book has already kicked off, and we're so excited to start getting drafts in players' hands. Thank you all again for your amazing support - I know this final week's gonna be amazing! P.S. For my fellow Americans, happy 4th, and for friends in the UK, go vote!
Last Week and a Half!

Hello you amazing people!
We've got 11 days left in the campaign - just about 2/3 through. And it's going great! This book is going to be amazing, and I'm so excited.
Our newest stretch goal unlocked is one of the ones I'm personally really excited for - KibblesTasty is going to be pitching in! My tables have all used his crafting system for years, and it adds a ton of depth and variety to looting and tool proficiencies. So we're going to get an appendix to the book, adding Kibbles' crafting recipes for all the items included.
The other announcement I've got today is a new add-on! I've been a fan for ages of the webcomics Three Panel Soul and Mac Hall, and last week I learned that the writer, Matt Boyd, has picked up a new side hustle - dice! So we're partnering with Matt to produce 4 one-of-a-kind bespoke dice sets, one to reflect each of our mini-settings. They're pricey ($125), but totally unique. They're UV resin, and at least some of the sets will have extremely cool inclusions. Since these won't be shipping with all our other rewards, they are limited to US/EU/Canada.
The Oracle Monster Generator is a system- and setting-agnostic tool for creating new encounters from scratch. It comes with 7 decks (420 cards in all), which you can draw from to build new random encounters. It's really nifty - a nice DM aid, lovingly made and beautifully delivered. You can check out the sample to see how it works (easier than explaining, to be honest). And, as an added plus — Nord Games are truly lovely, and offered me a ton of advice and help as I was gearing up for Spellbound Sea. So it's an easy project to love!
Bria's is an adorable book for 5E, focused on delightful little creatures to accompany you in your adventures. The big draw is 45 new familiars, each with new art, and with add-on plushies available for a whole host of them - so you can get a cuddly familiar to sit at the table with you IRL! It's also got a Summoner class, 6 new subclasses, items, spells, and more!
